About the authors

Fenella Renwick and Kirsty Scobie set up the Seafood Shack in Ullapool in 2016. Kirsty grew up on an off-grid farm just outside Ullapool and worked as a chef in restaurants, ski-chalets and lodges before she met her fisherman partner Josh. That’s when her passion for Scottish seafood began.

Fenella grew up further down the west coast in a small village called Achmore: her dad was a fisherman, and her mum ran a seafood restaurant so she would spend summer days scraping barnacles off the bottom of boats and evenings helping at the restaurant. Local fish and seafood have always been part of her life.
