About the author

Kirsten Gilmour was the owner and head chef of the legendary Mountain Cafe, Aviemore, and now runs KJ’s Bothy Bakery in nearby Grantown-on-Spey.

Originally from Temuka, South Island, New Zealand, she grew up on her grandparents farm and was introduced young to the joys of fresh produce. She moved to the U.K. when she was 20 and only found herself in Aviemore as she was looking for a weekend of skiing. She’s still in the area.

Kirsten has been a regular contributor to BBC Radio Scotland and The Times.
